Thoughts on the Future of Social Security

In a recent telephone interview with ThinkAdvisor, William Reichenstein provided a series of insights into Social Security claiming strategies and the overall future prospects for Social Security’s long-term solvency. Reichenstein, a Baylor University professor and chairman of investment management for Leawood, Kansas-based Social Security Solutions, offered comments on various approaches to maximizing benefits under the program, along with some thoughts on changes that could be considered to avoid the projected 2034 depletion of Social Security’s Trust Fund balances.
