Trump Social Security Proposals: Will they be in the reconciliation bill? - msn.com

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt yesterday reported that President Trump’s proposals for elimination of tax on tips, overtime, and Social Security benefits may be included in the reconciliation bill now being crafted. A post on msn.com by Steven Nelson and Josh Christenson includes a quote from the press secretary outlining the President’s intent: “The president has made it very clear to our allies on Capitol Hill that is a critical piece of this reconciliation package.”

Whether or not any of the three proposals are included in the large reconciliation bill remains to be seen. Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) weighed in with this comment, “Obviously there is a lot involved in crafting a tax bill,” Thune said. “There are a lot of moving parts. There are a lot of suggestions that have come up, and the president has put on the table, which we will take under consideration.”
