There have been some big changes regarding Social Security in the past few months. Most notably is the removal of a couple common filing strategies that many people were taking advantage of to increase their benefits. In order to take advantage of these options you had to be “in the know.” Unfortunately, even with these practices being taken out of use, there are still many other facets of Social Security that many people do not fully understand. Social Security can be a confusing system to the layman, and navigating or even finding the information can be an insurmountable task. But, it is very important to make sure that you go in to retirement knowing all of your options to make sure that you are prepared for any curveball that may be thrown your way.
