Updated “Who’s Who in Social Security” Now Available - AMAC Foundation

The AMAC Foundation’s editorial staff published the 2025 edition of its “Who’s Who in Social Security” last week, a guide to the array of professional organizations providing input on the future of this venerable program. This publication is designed to lend assistance in understanding and resolving the Social Security solvency crisis, identifying the key voices in shaping a resolution to the steadily unfolding insolvency problem. The material contained in this guide will help point you to the people integral to the solution and bring you up to speed on the various proposed resolutions currently in play.

In addition to identifying the managerial players behind the scenes in Social Security, including the program’s Trustees and its Advisory Board members, the roadmap outlines the relevant congressional representatives having responsibility for the critical policy decisions shaping Social Security’s future. The research institutes providing highly informed input to Social Security’s policy direction are identitifed in the publication, along with references to proposals that have been evaluated by the Social Security Administration (SSA) Office of the Chief Actuary and a summary of AMAC’s Social Security Guarantee.

For researchers, the Who’s Who in Social Security publication contains a bibliography of hundreds of publications related to Social Security and its history, as well as a section on Social Security trivia.

The publication can be downloaded free of charge from the Foundation’s Social Security Report website.
