Weekend Outages of Your “My Social Security” Account

Did you have trouble logging into your “My Social Security” online account over the weekend?  Well, so did a lot of other Americans, as reported in this Beaumont, TX 12News station article by Douglas Jones. Social Security’s online account services are relied on by many Americans to monitor their benefit payments, get estimates of future benefits, obtain replacement SS cards, and much, much more, but computer problems over the weekend left many without access to their Social Security information. As reported in this article, the Social Security Administration blamed the outage on a “configuration issue” – technical jargon for a bug in the system.
