What Do Most People Actually Earn From Social Security?

James Brumley is out with a great piece here that explains and shows graphically what people earn from Social Security each month.  The piece is based around the fact that the average is about $1,559 per month.  As he notes, there’s nothing average about that though.   His other key points are that, while Social Security is a nice supplement, it doesn’t have to be the bulk of your retirement income, even for more modest wage earners.  Further, all investors should request a detailed estimate of their monthly benefit projection from the Social Security Administration.  Full article here.
