The new budget deal pushed through last week affects more than just the federal budget. Many of the facets of this bill will directly affect many Americans financially. The main take aways from the deal as far as Social Security is concerned are that a douple-dip loophole is being closed and Medicare premium increases are being eased a little. The bill put a stop to a file-and-suspend strategy that couples could take advantage of to increase their benefits while still collecting monthly payouts.
