Women in their retirement years–a gloomy picture?
The National Institute of Retirement Security (NIRS) recently published a set of unpleasant scenarios facing American women in their retirement years. Whether it’s the cumulative impact of the gender pay gap issue, or the need to deal with other life priorities along the way, or the prevalence of single parenthood, the forecast remains the same…”women are projected to 80% more likely to be impoverished at age 65,” according to NIRS.
