Baby Boomers and Alzheimer’s Research

Alzheimer’s is among the scariest diseases in old age. Over 5 million Baby Boomers are currently afflicted by it and the number will only go up in the foreseeable future. Currently, this disease costs Americans $236 billion each year. Projections have predicted that this could quintuple to over $1 trillion by 2050. This is pushing many politicians to endorse research in the area of this disease. Even if a cure is not immediately found, anything that could even delay the onset of the disease for a few years on average could cut the previous cost in half.
