Boomers Confident About Retirement Lifestyle, but is it Wishful Thinking?

Citing an NHP Foundation quote pointing to a “disconnect between Baby Boomers’ current financial status and where they perceive themselves in retirement,” a post by PlanAdvisor’s Lee Barney takes a look at a potential disconnect between where those age 50 and older think they’ll be in retirement and where they’ll likely wind up. The post explains that while seven in ten poll respondents are “confident they will experience the retirement they aspire to,” three quarters of them expect to delay retirement to get there, and nearly a third have not attempted to budget for retirement. Concerns about meeting medical costs and maintaining adequate living facilities were expressed by large percentages of the, offering yet another view of this “disconnect.” Read Barney’s post here…
