How the Social Security System is Being Cheated

The Social Security System offers benefits to about 60 million Americans, most of which deserve it. As with most nice things, the few that game the system procure punishment for everybody. One of the most common ways people are reaping ill-gained profits are through the disability payouts. Half of the benefits paid out by disability are to false claims or cases that were once but are no longer eligible. Other common ways that people are tricking the Social Security system out of money is by receiving payments after remarriage and after the death of the recipient. These are burdens that the already dwindling system cannot afford to carry. Dan Caplinger with The Motley Fool writes more on this subject in this article.
