Social Security Under Bernie Sanders

One of the biggest debates in the current election cycle is on how the Social Security system will operate under each candidate. Each candidate has proposed their own solutions to the problems facing Social Security. Sanders would see the program expanded and has outlined in a recent proposal how he would see the solvency issue fixed under his watch. Sanders expansion would see increased benefits for all recipients, an increase of 4.875% on average, and would be accompanied by an increase in taxes in order to pay for it. These taxes would affect mostly the top earners in the country, including a pretty hefty investment income tax hike raising taxes on investment by as much as triple what they are now.
