Working in Retirement

One of the most common “fixes” to the Social Security system being floated around is increasing the retirement age from the current age of 65. Some studies have shown that as much as 40% of the retired population is healthy enough to continue working in some capacity. This is barring any other source of entitlement and looking at a purely health related view. Americans already work later in to life on average than other industrialized countries. The choice to continue working in retirement is one of the better options to increasing your Social Security check, taking that choice away could end up hurting many retirees.
