Americans are worried about Social Security solvency

In a recently released report, Gallup has revealed that more than half of those in the age group just preceding Social Security eligibility are concerned about the solvency of the program. For that age group to be mostly concerned should come as no surprise, but what may be surprising is that despite the fact that Social Security’s ability to pay full benefits will run out about 2034, the percentage of those concerned about the program hasn’t really changed much in decades. In this Gallup article, Justin McCarthy explains the full poll results including how different age groups from younger to older have viewed Social Security over the years.
