Early Retirement Has Its Upside
A study conducted last year by Health Economics draws a connection between retiring early and living a longer life, according to a post by U.S.News & World Report contributor Maryalene LaPonsie. In her article, Ms. LaPonsie, suggests that while this connection is subject to debate, there are some fundamentals that contribute to longevity regardless of when one retires. “Finding a purpose in retirement is paramount for health and happiness,” she notes, citing comments from Joe McLean, managing partner of financial advisory firm Intersect Capital LLC in San Ramon, California suggesting that “Instead of worrying about the length of one’s lifespan, ….people should focus on making sure their time is well-spent.” Read her post here…
