How Working During Retirement Will Change Your Social Security Benefits
There are a myriad of reasons that people choose to work during retirement, from enjoyment o necessity to somewhere in between the two. According to a survey from the Insured Retirement Institute, about 33% of baby boomers say they plan to work until past age 70 or never fully retire at all. Katie Brockman’s piece here explains this hard and fast rule: if you claim benefits before your full retirement age (now 66 to 67 depending on birth year) and still work, your benefits may be reduced depending on how much you earn.
