Look out for more scammers in 2020!
Although 2019 proved to be a hideously bad year for seniors who fell victim to cyber-crime and telephone scams, 2020 is unfortunately expected to be even worse. Seems there is no limitation to the resourcefulness and tenacity that scammers will use to get at your money, so as we enter a new year, please be especially vigilant. Be suspicious of every phone call from someone you don’t know, and of every email you receive, even if it appears on the surface to be legitimate. Scammers usually disguise both their identity and intention by claiming to be someone trying to help you, but who is underhandedly trying to bilk you out of your hard earner – and often limited – money.
