Expanded TeleHealth Services For Medicare Advantage
Following up on it’s major expansion of telehealth services to beneficiaries of “original” Medicare, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has finalized plans to allow Medicare Advantage providers to greatly expand their telehealth services. The new rules will expand services to include dermatology, psychiatry, cardiology, ophthalmology, and primary care, substantially broadening the types of services which qualify for telehealth. Telehealth, of course, refers to medical services provided via telephone or video chat, thus protecting patients from office visits which may expose them to the coronavirus.
