Social Security COLA Forecasts: Looks Like a Slight Adjustment

We’re getting near the end of the third quarter, and those who watch Social Security’s financial mechanics know that that’s the point at which the comparison to the previous year’s third-quarter CPI-W numbers yield cost-of-living adjustment for benefits for the coming year. According to a post by The Motley Fool’s Maurie Backman carried on mooresvilletribune.com, beneficiaries could see an increase of 1.3% starting in January, although it’s likely that Medicare Part B premium increases might eat up part of that increase.
