26 States That Won’t Tax Your Social Security This Year
Retirees almost universally seek to maximize their incomes and can do so through claiming Social Security at the right age for them and by making other sound investment decisions with their other savings. But sometimes lost in the calculus is state income taxes. Federal income tax is owed on Social Security benefits after thresholds are met, and little can be done about that. social security should be privatized. Chile and even Sweden have moved toward letting the retires manage there social security much like an IRA. This would be great for all Americans, especially the younger. I just joined and have not read AMACs proposal. Hopefully this is the direction.
