Medicare Advantage beneficiaries save more money

The newest analysis by Better Medicare Alliance found Medicare Advantage plan holders spend $1,640 less a year compared with traditional fee-for-service. Their analysis also showed that lower-income Medicare beneficiaries are more likely to choose MA over traditional Medicare. Allyson Schwartz, president and CEO of Better Medicare Alliance said beneficiaries in MA saw “a 40 percent lower cost burden than traditional Medicare which translates to meaningful financial security and peace of mind for millions of beneficiaries.” Robert King’s article for Fierce Healthcare reports further on the findings of the analysis by this advocacy group.
