Social Security’s Online Tools - Pioneer

There’s little doubt that the world is inexorably moving “online,” using the internet for just about everything under the sun. For example, shopping for both food and merchandise is just a click away with fast, often same day, delivery right to your front door. It’s not surprising then that the Social Security Administration has been steadily migrating to an online platform, allowing you access to many SSA services from the comfort of your own home. From simply getting an estimate of what your benefit will be, to replacing your SS card, to actually applying for your benefits, much of what once required a visit or call to your local Social Security office (with the accompanying wait) can now be done while sitting at your home computer. All of this is explained in this “Celebrate you independence” article by SSA’s Hilary Hatch appearing at the Big Rapids (MI) Pioneer. Click here to read more.

Also, if you’re unsure about how these basics apply to you, or if you have any questions about your individual situation under Social Security, note that the AMAC Foundation provides a free-to-the-public advisory service to help Americans navigate the complexities of this program. Learn more about it here…
