Gaps in Knowledge & Changes Coming to Social Security in 2024

Trevor Jennewine mentions a survey from the Nationwide Retirement Institute in this piece. He also notes the typical annual changes coming to Social Security effective January 1, 2024. One will be a cost of living adjustment, predicted around 3% but not to be announced until mid October. The other will be a rise in the amount of income subject to the payroll tax; the current cap is $160,200 in wages. That new figure is also not yet known, though $167,700 is the prediction.
