SSA Urged to Move Past Outdated Tools and Embrace 21st Century Technology

In follow-up from last week’s hearing on Social Security’s disability claim backlog, members of the House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Social Security stressed the criticality of accelerating the handling of disability claims, citing the “220 days for an initial decision and another 213 for an initial appeal” as unacceptable averages.
