More on the Social Security “Clawback” Issue: SSA Acknowledges Incorrect Information

In response to criticism, Social Security Administration (SSA) acting Commissioner Kilolo Kijakazi acknowledged the incorrect statistic in a letter to members of Congress and apologized for providing “a preliminary, unvetted and partial answer” in response to the question intended to put the size of the overpament problem in perspective. For more on the SSA apology, read this post by David Hilzenrath, KFF Health News, and Jodie Fleischer, Cox Media Group posted on wsbtv.com.
