Best Sound Advice Overall on Social Security

Maurie Backman has been writing about all issues related to Social Security for a decade. She reflects on that in this piece and offers her best sound advice. First and foremost she cautions NOT to plan on relying on those benefits to survive. One cannot. Benefits replace only about 40 percent of pre-retirement income. Backman also advices to get informed, specifically about differing payouts at different ages. Age 62 will pay the least but you’d potentially get more checks.
