What Medicare does not cover - The Palm Beach Post
A recent survey conducted by The Kaiser Family Foundation found that 23 percent of adults under 65 and 45 percent of those aged 65 and older believed that Medicare would cover the cost of time in a nursing home or assisted living center if they had a long-term illness or disability. Unfortunately, original Medicare and Medicare Advantage health plans will cover the first 100 days at a facility only if skilled care is needed; they will not cover custodial care.
