My Social Security Accounts Soon to Require Revised Log-in Procedure
If you created your Social Security account online before September 18, 2021, and haven’t updated it recently, you will need to do so relatively soon. SSA has established a new access method for personal accounts: it requires the creation of a Login.gov access identifier, along with two-factor authentication, to ensure enhanced security for our information. As described in a post by The Senior Citizens League’s Alex Moore on seniorsleague.org, it’s a fairly straightforward process. Read his post here to review the four-step process that will update your my Social Security account for the new access procedure.
Of course, if you have any questions about implementing the revised log-in procedure, know that the AMAC Foundation’s Social Security Advisory Service is available to assist you. This free-to-the-public service can be accessed through the Foundation’s website.
