Coming Soon: Medicare’s Annual “Open Enrollment” Period! - Henderson News

It’s coming up fast: Medicare’s annual “Open Enrollment Period” which starts each year on October 15th and runs through December 7th. This is the time when American seniors can enroll in or change a stand-alone Medicare Part D Prescription Drug plan or a Part C Medicare Advantage plan. As described in this Q&A by Toni King, appearing in The Henderson (TX) News, this is the time to enroll in a new plan which, in the case described, will result in a Late Enrollment Penalty because the questioner didn’t enroll in a plan during their Initial Enrollment Period (IEP) for prescription drugs. Click here to learn more about this specific case and, generally, what you need to know about Medicare’s “Open Enrollment Period/Annual Enrollment Period.”
