“Medical Marijuana” not covered by Medicare Advantage - NASDAQ

“Cannabis” products have become increasingly popular in recent years, and some physicians now suggest using products often referred to as “medical marijuana.” Increasingly, doctors seem prone to prescribing the use of these products, often when all other medical procedures for ailments have been unsuccessful. And nowadays, seniors seem to be a primary user of these products. The Medicare Advantage (MA) insurance industry has sought guidance from the government’s CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) whether they are permitted to offer medical marijuana or derivatives, such as cannabis oil, as part of their client insurance services.
