August 2026 Social Security Payment Schedule - MSN.com
Social Security payments are sent out based on the day of the month you were born. If you are receiving a spousal or survivor benefit, you receive it based on your spouse’s birthday, not your own. There are currently over 70 million Social Security recipients, which is why payments are now sent out in segments.
Payment Dates In August
- August 12, 2026: Payments for beneficiaries with birthdays between the 1st and 10th.
- August 19, 2026: Payments for beneficiaries with birthdays between the 11th and 20th.
- August 26, 2026: Payments for beneficiaries with birthdays between the 21st and 31st.
SSI (Supplemental Security Income) was already paid on Friday, July 31st. It is usually paid on the first, unless the 1st falls on a weekend or holiday. These recipients will not receive a payment in August.
