Happy Labor Day!! - Town & Country

Labor Day is known as the end-of-summer – a time that began on Memorial Day earlier in the year. This year, as with all other’s, summer is bracketed by these two national holidays. But rather then viewing Labor Day as an end, an optimist might also view it as a beginning – the start of fall, filled with harvest festivals, fun holidays (Halloween) and grateful holidays (Thanksgiving). And, in the northern parts of our country, colorful changes of scenery in our outdoor environment. So, as we celebrate this Labor Day holiday, let us remember when it came about (9/5/1882 in NYC) and what it was for (rights for laborers).
