A few steps to help you create a rainy-day fund

According to the Federal Reserve’s report on the economic well-being of U.S. households, four out of ten adults in the U.S. would struggle to come up with $400 in cash for an emergency, a two percentage-point increase from 2017.  The survey also found 17 percent of adults expect to forgo payment on some of their bills in the month of the survey.  A similar study conducted by FINRA Financial Capability study found more than half of adults do not have ready access to cash to cover expense for three months in response to sickness, job loss or a recession.
