Americans’ Unique Retirement Expenses by Region

Housing, insurance, groceries, and healthcare are expense nearly all will endure in retirement.  But as Kailey Fralick reports using AAG survey data, some areas of the U.S. have more unique retirement expenses.  Residents of Northeast states were most likely to live in a retirement community.  residents in the South were more likely to purchase a boat in retirement.  Residents in the Midwest were most likely to own a pet.  Residents in the west were the most likely to want to continue their education in retirement and also the most likely to plan to work a part-time job.  Read Fralick’s full article here.
