ATTENTION: SSI Beneficiaries with Dependents - SSA.gov

Action Needed for People Receiving SSI with Dependents and Who Do Not File Tax Returns to Receive $500 Per Child Payment – 

The Social Security Administration last evening released a press release advising steps to be taken to ensure that “SSI recipients who have dependent children and did not file 2018 or 2019 taxes … receive additional payments for their eligible children quickly.” The press release, issued by Mark Hinkle, Acting Press Officer, urged immediate action to ensure these qualifying child benefits are received along with the SSI recipient’s individual payment. The press release also urged caution regarding scam operations, reminding folks that stimulus payments do not require a fee.
