Behind the Scenes with the Social Security Advisory Board
The Social Security Advisory Board was formed as a neutral panel to aid and advise Congress and the President in matters to do with Social Security. Through their research they make recommendations as to the best course of action to take when navigating current or projected problems with the Social Security System. They do not enact the proposed solutions themselves, instead offering different suggestions based on their non-partisan research that congress can then use in their own meetings in order to find the best course of action. More can be read on this subject, as well as a peek in to what they have been up to this year, with Alicia H. Munnell at Marketwatch.com.
