Benefits in 2017

There is finally some good news regarding Social Security benefits in the next year. There will be an increase in most people’s benefits to the tune of $2.50 each month. A truly generous and magnanimous gesture by the Social Security Administration. This increase is the most recent calculation from the COLA system used to decide if there will be increases in benefits each year. These calculations have been the target of much scrutiny in recent years because of its inadequacy in properly offsetting the rate of inflation for those relying on Social Security in their retirement years.
