Changing Your Mind While Filing for Benefits

There are many reasons why you might change your mind on receiving benefits after having already filed. However, there is only a year long window in which you can withdraw your application. After this window you can no longer do this and will continue to receive your current benefits for the rest of your retirement. The most common reason for changing your mind is deciding that you would rather wait for your benefits to mature until you are an older age and will be receiving larger checks.
