Continuing Work in Retirement

It is becoming a new reality that retirement does not really mean retirement these days. Many simply cannot afford to retire for a multitude of reasons. Since pensions have become increasingly rare, Americans have not adapted well to saving for retirement through other means. This, coupled with the fact that Social Security cannot fully support someone in retirement, leaves more and more seniors working well past retirement age. Though, some merely want to continue working. Since 2000, the percentage of those 65+ still working has risen from 12.8% to 18.8%.
