Action Begins on House Social Security Bills
Leading with the phrase, “The time to act is now,” Rep. John Larson (D-Conn.) and a host of House Democrats reintroduced a series of bills aimed at Social Security expansion. Larson, chairman of the House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Social Security, announced a series of hearings set to begin next week on various Social Security proposals addressing, among other things, increased benefits, changes to the cost-of-living calculation methodology, and a phasing-in of increases to FICA tax rates, Read thehill.com’s recap of the announcement here…
