If I Apply for Social Security am I Automatically Enrolled in Medicare?

Depending on whether or not you’re eligible for both programs, you may apply for both Social Security and Medicare simultaneously.   For most individuals, Medicare coverage begins at age 65 and you should receive your Medicare card three months before your 65th birthday.  However, with Social Security it will depend when you file for your benefits.
