Lifetime Income Disclosure Act of 2017

In an effort to increase the information provided to savings plan participants, Representative Luke Messer of Indiana’s 6th District earlier this month proposed H.R.2055, the Lifetime Income Disclosure Act, designed to require employers to provide supplemental information to retirement plan participants. The type of information  to be required would include estimated income projections in retirement and draw-down rates, all of which would help promote financial wellness in retirement years and increase interest in savings. Valerie Bolden-Barrett, in a post on www.hrdive.com, summarizes the bill and its objectives.
