New Hearing Being Held on Solvency Issue

The Subcommittee on Social Security in the House Ways and Means Committee will be holding a hearing today on “understanding Social Security’s Solvency Challenge.” This hearing will compare estimates on the finances of the system by both the Congressional Budget Office and the Social Security Trustees and how it will affect their decisions moving forward. The meeting will mainly be about figuring out why there are discrepancies between the two projections and will have speakers from both organizations explaining how they arrived at their respective conclusions.
