There’s little question that for the computer proficient, creating an online Social Security account is a great way to give you access to all of your Social Security information. And for those who have not yet claimed their benefits, online is a much more efficient method than via telephone or visiting the local Social Security office to apply. However, that same opportunity for online efficiency has created a certain identity theft risk which has unfortunately already been exploited by some cyber-criminals.
