Restricted Application Option Alive and Well…For Some, Anyway

If you were born on or before Jan. 1, 1954, you should know that there’s a lucrative Social Security option still available to you that can benefit you substantially. It’s called the “Restricted Application,” and it’s an option that allows you to file for benefits on your spouse’s (or ex-spouse’s) earnings record while allowing your own benefit to grow. The option was eliminated in 2015, but there are still many folks to whom it is available as a result of a grandfathering clause. Learn more about this option via an article posted at forbes.com by Senior Contributor Bob Carlson. Read the article here…

Also, if you have any questions about how the Restricted Applicatin provision might apply to you, or if you have any questions at all regarding Social Security and your personal situation, know that the AMAC Foundation provides a service free of charge that can help you.
