Pensions are a dying practice in America and are quickly disappearing, most pensions today are held by public servants and government employees. There is still a lot of thought that must go in to how you will collect on your pension, however, when you reach retirement age. Many of the same reasons as waiting to file for Social Security can be applied to deciding when to collect pensions.
