Reforming Social Security

Social Security has been in the spotlight recently for being in need of reform due to its solvency issue. The Social Security trust fund is slated to run dry by the 2030s and should that happen beneficiaries will see a cut in benefits across the board. As the deadline draws closer many are clamoring for changes. While there are many proposals making the rounds, some believe a fix isn’t likely until the last minute. Candidates are pitching their short term fixes that would extend the deadline but will not abolish the inherent problems in the current system.
