Should biometrics replace Social Security numbers for identification?

In the wake of the massive breach of consumer data at Equifax, many are suggesting that it’s high time that we stopped using the Social Security number (SSN) as a means of identification.  Some are suggesting that a new national identification number be used, but that would carry most of the same hacking opportunity risks as the SSN does.  Biometrics, an emerging technology which uses your fingerprint, your voice, or a scan of your eye to identify you, is now being suggested as a nearly fool proof method of proving that you are you.  This CNN Money article by Kaya Yurieff appears at FOX2now.com (St. Louis) and describes how biometrics could transform the way consumers are identified.  Click here to read more.
