Social Security Makes the Top 10 List of News Items

InvestmentNews reports in a recent post that Social Security issues are among the Top 10 news items that were most popular with their readers in 2019. Specifically, the issue of deferring filing until age 70 to take advantage of deferred retirement credits ranked at number two, while the 1.6% COLA announced for 2020 made the list at number 10. Incidentally, number four on the list addresses the need for improved financial literacy for  Americans as an “Epic fail.” This has an tangential relationship to Social Security, and is the underpinning of a bipartisan bill (HR 5306) introduced earlier this month in Congress. Read the post here…
