Social Security’s “Ticket to Work” Program – Equity for the Disabled - SSA
Social Security administers two separate disability programs – “SSDI” (Social Security Disability Insurance) which is disability insurance for working Americans who become disabled, and “SSI,” (Supplemental Security Income) which is a means-tested assistance program for disabled Americans of any age. Some Americans are disabled from a very young age, while others become disabled later in life, but most share a common vision to be a part of the American workforce and contribute (and earn) to the best of their ability.
